Why We Started This

Look, I'll be straight with you - FrostGloom wasn't born in some corporate boardroom. It started back in 2019 when a bunch of us were tired of those cookie-cutter gyms with their recycled air and motivational posters. We wanted something real, something that'd actually push us.

Whistler's got this brutal cold that most people run from. But we? We ran straight into it. Started training outdoors in sub-zero temps, combining old-school strength work with cold exposure techniques that'd been forgotten. The results were insane - people getting stronger, recovering faster, and building mental toughness you can't fake.

By 2021, we'd built a proper facility on Frost Peak Boulevard. Yeah, we've got indoor space (we're not completely crazy), but we've incorporated cold chambers, outdoor training zones, and methods that'll make your regular gym routine look like a warm-up. It's uncomfortable, it's challenging, and that's exactly the point.

How We Got Here

It's been a wild ride from a small crew to a full facility

Winter 2019 - The Beginning

Started with 6 of us doing outdoor workouts in -15C weather. Everyone thought we'd quit after a week. We didn't. Word spread fast - turns out there's a lot of people tired of boring gym routines.

Summer 2020 - Growth Phase

Hit 50 members. Started offering structured programs. Got our first cryotherapy chamber (game changer for recovery). People were seeing results they couldn't get anywhere else - that cold exposure combined with HIIT was doing something special.

Fall 2021 - The Facility Opens

Opened our 8,000 sq ft facility at Frost Peak Boulevard. Built it exactly how we wanted - cold chambers, outdoor training zones, proper equipment. No fancy marble floors or juice bars, just everything you need to get seriously strong.

2023 - Community Expansion

Added more coaches, more programs. Started working with athletes who needed that edge. Our members weren't just getting fit anymore - they were crushing personal records and competing at levels they didn't think possible.

2025 - Where We're At

200+ members, 12 coaches, and a reputation for being the toughest training facility in BC. We're still doing what we started - pushing boundaries, embracing discomfort, and helping people discover what they're really capable of.

What We're About

We're not here to coddle anyone or sell you some magic transformation. Real strength comes from doing hard things consistently. That's it. No secrets, no shortcuts.

Our whole approach is based on this idea: when you train in uncomfortable conditions - cold, high-intensity, pushing past what feels safe - your body and mind adapt in ways that regular training can't touch. It's science mixed with old-school grit.

We've built a community of people who show up, do the work, and push each other. No judgment, no ego - just people committed to getting better.

How We Train

Cold exposure isn't some trendy biohack for us - it's foundational. Combined with high-intensity work and proper strength training, it creates adaptations you won't get in a climate-controlled gym.

Every program we run is designed to push you past your comfort zone while keeping you safe. Our coaches have been through it themselves - they know what it takes because they've done it.

Former alpine athlete turned strength coach. Started this whole thing because traditional gyms weren't cutting it.

Performance Director

Ex-military, specializes in mental toughness and cold training protocols. She'll push you harder than you'll push yourself.

Devon Frost

Nutrition & Recovery Lead

Sports nutritionist who gets that recovery is where the magic happens. Manages our cryo programs and nutrition coaching.
